My blog's new look & other announcements
For those of you who follow my blog through an RSS reader, check out my blog’s new look by clicking here. If you haven’t noticed, I’m making a half-hearted attempt at making my daily updates have a common theme. I guess today’s theme is ANNOUNCEMENTS.
If you’re a fitizen, you’ll be getting an announcement late tonight late tomorrow.
If you aren’t a...

Overheard Everywhere →
A site updated daily where people share hilarious things they’ve overheard. Here are some excerpts:
3-year-old boy to grandfather: Do you have a penis? Grandfather: Yes, I do. Boy: I have a penis, too. My penis is small. My penis is cute. Soldier: What is that thing? Passenger #1: An iPhone. Passenger #2: Man, where the hell have you been? Soldier: Iraq.

This video made my day. You have to watch it!

The inspiration behind WALL-E (no spoilers) →
Here’s an interesting article for WALL-E, my most anticipated movie of the summer. I was hesitant to read it because I was wary of spoilers, but thankfully there are none, and I think it’ll improve your enjoyment of the movie. I found it interesting that WALL-E’s head was inspired by binoculars. Can’t wait to see this tomorrow!
“Sonido Total” by the Pinker Tones
This song/video is a bit old, but I needed a change of pace from all the slow songs I’ve been sharing. The Pinker Tones are from Spain, which is appropriate cause my friend Camille just came back from there, and it’s #1 on my list of places to travel to. And I don’t really know why. Well, I guess my shallow reason is to visit...
The Big Picture - News Stories in Photographs →
A simple photoblog with HIGH-RES photographs that you HAVE to see. And here’s an interesting interview with the creator.
I hope this happens in my lifetime
The Lilypad, by Vincent Callebaut, is a concept for a completely self-sufficient floating city intended to provide shelter for future climate change refugees.
Biomimicry was clearly the inspiration behind the design. The Lilypad, which was designed to look like a waterlily, is intended to be a zero emission city afloat in the ocean. Through a number of technologies (solar, wind, tidal,...
“Simple Truths” - a quiet video of parkour training:
I am an average traceur - I train two to three times a week, and have been doing so for over 5 years now. Pretty average skill level considering. This video tracks a day of solo training in Reading, including the mistakes. I feel sometimes it is as important for us to see our mistakes as it is for us to see ourselves at our best,...
On giving and receiving advice
When you give advice, give the person options, and let them choose the best path. People hate to be told what to do — need to make them feel empowered to make the decision for themselves.
When giving advice, include the word “because” — it increases eventual absorption, regardless of what you say after the word “because.”
Actionable advice is best advice....
I don’t know why, but I had a hard time falling asleep last night. I was still up at 7am and the sun was starting to rise, which always makes me feel crappy, like waking up late for a test, except the opposite. So I got up, went downstairs, greeted my parents, had a glass of OJ, got back in bed, and tried to fall sleep. Eyes closed, I knew I’d be up a while longer. My head felt...
"Crying Men"
A collection of portraits of famous male actors crying.
See the rest here and here.
Is this the best I can do? Is it worthy?
I take so much for granted. Perhaps...

What a bastard
[The announcers are talking about Ray Allen's son.]
Jason: Yeah, keep talking about his bastard son!
Me: Really? He is?
Jason: No, he's suffering a life-threatening disease.
Me: ...
Me: You're a douchebag.
About a job
Mom: You should have gone to the job fair.
Jason: It's too late for that. That's Past Jason's problem.
[Silence.]
Jason: And Present Jason's problem.
Jason: And I want it to be Future Jason's problem.
Spore (one of the most anticipated games by the creator of the Sims) released a trial version of its Creature Creator, so I tried it out by making YOSHI. Try making one yourself!
Modern treehouses
A German company called baumraum creates modern, natural, and solidly constructed treehouses. Each treehouse project is assessed individually. The team (consisting of an architect, a landscape architect, an arbologist, and a craftsman) takes into consideration the condition of the environment and of the tree, with the size and features the clients desire.
baumraum offers a range of wood-types...

Surprisingly not surprising.
Watch how similar the trailers are for “The Dark Knight” and the original “Batman.” And by similar I mean EXACTLY THE SAME.
